This is it. Today is the final day of taking Lactagen. I have 3 more days in the program. Over these next 3 days I will actually drink regular fully loaded lactose-laden milk. I'll drink 2 - 8 oz glasses the first day, 2 - 10 oz glasses the second day, and 2 - 12 oz glasses of milk the third day. After that... if I survive, then I'll be able to eat up to 4 helping of dairy a day for the next 30 days. After that, no limits. So, assuming all goes well over the next 3 days, I think a little pizza is in order for Thursday night.
The dosages for today are:
Breakfast - 20 cc of Lactagen mixed with apple cranberry juice
Dinner - 20 cc of Lactagen mixed with apple cranberry juice
As far as food I've eaten today:
Peanut butter and jelly sandwich
Great Value BBQ chicken chunks
Glass of Lactaid lactose free milk
Yoplait non fat blueberry yogurt
Pretzels
Taco salad
Homemade apple pie (Mmmmm)
If you're new to reading this blog, and this is the first page you're reading, this is the Lactagen program. It's designed to train you large intestines to produce micro flora that will break down lactose, since your smaller intestines are no longer producing the lactase enzyme effectively. The great question is, will it cure my lactose intolerance? I should know a lot by tomorrow morning.
